Dance music and smiles at The Gardens

The temperature was above 90 degrees but the shade was pleasant, the breeze was gentle, and the smiles were easy Wednesday afternoon as the Al Welsh Orchestra entertained at The Gardens in Jefferson. Residents and guests tapped their toes and called out requests. Some even took advantage of old-fashioned dance music and did exactly that… they danced!

Al Welsh Bud Tasler

Bud Tasler needed only a little coaxing to join Beth Rasmussen in a polka. Bud and his wife Joan in their earlier years seldom missed an opportunity to dance.

Chuck Radke (pictured, right), retired East Greene music teacher, played keyboard in the group for 50 or so years, too. He left the orchestra earlier this year, but sat in to play a few numbers.
